
Blend shortening, butter, sugar, eggs, milk, and vanilla. Add combined dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. Roll the dough 1/4 inch thick on a floured surface and cut with cookie cutters. Bake in a 375 degree F oven on ungreased baking sheets for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from pan immediately and sprinkle with sugar or let cool on a wire rack and frost. It makes about three and a half dozen cookies.
Note you may want to lightly spray the baking sheet with cooking spray that has flour in it. Do not freeze dough. When we three times the cookies we need to four times the buttercream frosting recipe.
