Brown the ground beef in a cooking pot with a dash of olive oil. (You will use the same pot for the whole recipe.) Transfer to a different bowl.
Dice the onion, celery, and carrot and soften in the same pot for a few minutes.
Add the crushed garlic, oregano, tomato puree, and either red wine or 5 oz of beef broth. Stir to reduce for a few minutes.
Pour the tomatoes, beef stock, milk, Worchestershire, and ground beef into the pan. Simmer slowly for at least one hour, but a few hours is better.
Cook the pasta, and serve together.
