 ½ cup Butter
 ¼ tsp Baking Soda
 1 Egg
 1 ½ cups Flour
 1 tsp Cinnamon
 1 cup Sugar
 ¼ tsp Cream of Tartar
 ½ tsp Vanilla
 2 tbsp Sugar

In a medium mixing bowl beat the butter with a mixer for 30 seconds. Add the one cup sugar, baking soda, and cream of tartar. Beat until combined, scraping sides of bowl. Beat in the egg and vanilla until combined. Beat in as much of the flour as you can with the mixer. Stir in remaining flour. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for one hour. Combine the two tablespoons of cinnamon and sugar. Remove dough from refrigerator and shape dough into one inch balls. Roll balls in the sugar cinnamon mixture to coat. Place balls two inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 375 degree F. oven for 10 to 11 minutes or until edges are golden. Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool. Makes about 36 cookies.
