Combine brown sugar, sugar, corn syrup and water in a sauce pan; bring to a boil. Add 4 tablespoons of the boiling syrup to the unbeaten egg whites, beating while adding the hot syrup. Boil remaining syrup until mixture strings a thread about six inches long; beat while adding. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Beat until mixture stands into soft peaks. Drop onto wax paper using two spoons and let it harden.
