Cake
 3 cups Flour
 2 cups Sugar
 5 tbsp Shortening (Crisco)
 1 Egg
 1 ¼ cups Milk
 1 tbsp Baking Powder
 1 tsp Vanilla

 1 cup Flour/Sugar/Shortening reserved from cake batter
 1 tbsp Butter
 1 tsp Cinnamon

Mix by hand 3 cups of flour, 2 cups of sugar and 5 tablespoons of shortening. Once blended, remove one cup to reserve it for the topping.

To the remaining cake mixture add one egg, 1 1/4 cups of milk, one tablespoon of baking powder and one teaspoon of vanilla. Mix by hand, the batter will be lumpy.

Pour batter into two 9 inch greased and floured pans

Mix reserved cup of sugar, flour and shortening to one teaspoon of cinnamon and cut in one tablespoon of butter to make a lumpy topping. Spread the crumb topping over the cake batter evenly. Bake in a 350 degree F oven for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
