The original recipe included one cup of grated Parmesan cheese, but we never put that in when we made it. This recipe can be used as a side dish or a main dish if you add chicken or another protein to it.
In a medium pot heat olive oil over medium heat, add the garlic and cook for one to two minutes, add the butter and melt stirring constantly. Add salt, pepper, and three cups of chicken broth. Bring to a boil, add pasta to the chicken broth mixture and cook according to the package directions. Add a little more chicken broth if the noodles begin to stick to the bottom of the pot. Add the cream, parsley, and cheese when the pasta is cooked, mix thoroughly, and serve immediately.
